Great Scott! Judy Blazer will board the cast of the Tony-winning A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder in the role of Miss Shingle. She will begin performances on June 30, taking over for Carole Shelley, who will play her final performance on June 28.
Blazer made her Broadway debut in Me and My Girl; her additional Main Stem credits include A Change in the Heir, Titanic, 45 Seconds from Broadway and LoveMusik. Her screen resume includes Anastasia, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, Buster and Chauncey's Silent Night, The Houses that Are Left, Law and Order, As the World Turns and Guiding Light.
Written by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder follows Monty Navarro, a long-lost member of a noble family who stands to become the next Earl of Highhurst—if he can eliminate the eight other relatives (all played by Jefferson Mays) who precede him in line for the title. In addition to Best Musical, the tuner garnered Tonys for bookwriter Robert L. Freedman, director Darko Tresnjak and costume designer Linda Cho.
The current cast also includes Jeff Kready as Monty Navarro, Scarlett Strallen as Sibella and Catherine Walker as Phoebe D’Ysquith.
